Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp sambal (red hot chilipeppersauce)
- 1 tl djahe (powdered ginger)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/3 cup ketjap (Indonesian soy sauce)
- 4 tbsp peanutbutter
- 1/3 cup water
Method
Peel the onion and cut it finely. Peel the garlic.
Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion. Stirfry for a minute and then add the sambal. Stirfry another minute. Press and add garlic together with djahe and sugar. Add ketjap and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add peanutbutter and stir until it starts melting. Stir in water a little at a time.
Bring to almost boiling and warm for a couple of minutes. Add more water if needed.
